Your first step will be to create a pool. You can do so on the Create a Pool page. The is your first step to enjoying a fun night with friends and see some of the upcoming movies.
Once your pool is created, the admin will select the movies for the pool. The pool will end 4 weeks after the last movie opens. You will also want to make sure you have enough movies for everyone in your pool.
Once all the movies are selected, the admin will add players. Additional players can always be added before you start the game, as long as the pool is not finalized.
Once the players are added, you're ready to play the game. Players are given 100 points to bid on movies. Once a player wins the movie, it's assigned to them. Once all movies are assigned, the fun really starts.
After the movies have been assigned, the final step is to make sure everything is correct and then finalize the pool. Once you hit confirm, there will be no turning back!
Finally, the best step! You just have to sit back and watch as your movie earns money. After 4 weeks, the movie will close and the final gross will be locked in. The player with the higher combined gross after the pool closes is declared the winner!
This is Dwight. He wants to host a BoxOfficeBattle.com pool. He creates his pool, and invites several of his friends over. Since Dwight is the host, he thinks it would be best for him to be the administrator of the pool as well. While waiting for his friends, he completes the first several steps of the pool. This includes choosing the movies that are in the pool, adding all the players that are going to particpate. Dwight is expecting 6 people in total, so he keeps this in mind when chosing movies. He wants to make sure he picks enough so everyone will be able to get several. He chooses 25, this should allow for approximately 4 movies per person.
Oh look. Four of Dwight's friends have arrived! It doesn't look like Cristen could make it. Dwight will have to go back and update his player list to ensure it's accurate. Shall we meet the rest of them?

Dwight gives everyone an explanation of the steps he's completed so far. There are 25 movies available in the pool. With Cristen not showing up, this gives everyone an average of 5 movies each. He also let's them know that the pool will finish 4 weeks after the final movie opens. He also let's everyone know the point of the game. He suggests to bid on the movies that they think will earn the most money, and not just the movies they are excited to see, since the player with the highest gross amoungst all their movies will be the winner!
Everyone agrees upon the setup, and are excited to get started.

Dwight explains how the game works. Each participant is "given" 100 points to bid on the movies they want. The starting bidder can be chosen at random. For each new movie it should shift around clockwise. The bidder can choose to start the bid at any number of points, as long as it's less than or equal to the amount of points they have left to spend. They may also choose to pass on the movie, which will eliminate them from bidding on the current movie. Once they choose, the bid moves on to the next person, usually clockwise. They can either choose to pass, or bid MORE than the previous bidder. This continues around the circle until either everyone else passes, or no one is able to beat the bid. Once this happens the movie is rewarded to the highest bidder and the points are deducted from their total. This will repeat until all movies are assigned out, or until no one has any points to spend. Dwight will be handling this for the group, on the pool's "Play Now" page.

Dwight, who has the reins of the computer players brings up the first movie. It's Marshmellow Madness 2! The followup to the highly popular Marshmellow Maddess. They watch the trailer, so everyone can familiarize themselves with it. He then reminds Carla that she's first to bid. Let's see how the first round of bidding goes.
Carla starts by bidding 15pts.
Warren passes, thinking the movie will flop.
Dwight loved the first one, he bids 20pts.
Damian passes, not wanting to spend much this early.
Katelynn bumps up the bid by 1 for 21pts
The bid now goes full circle, and starts back with Carla. Warren and Damian both passed, so they cannot bid on this movie anymore.
Carla wants this movie bad. She bids 35pts.
Dwight is intimidated by Carla's gusto, and passes.
Katelynn wants to get out while she still can. She passes.
This only leaves Carla, with a bet of 35pts. She has official won the rights to Marshmellow Madness 2!
Carla wins, as no one bids over her 35pts.
Dwight assigns the movie to her, and subtracts her points via the Play Now page on the website. Dwight repeats this until all movies have been assigned.
After an intense pool, all the movies have been assigned. Dwight then checks out the Finalize page, to ensure everything is accurate. He confirms everything, and now the pool officially starts. He reminds everyone of their log-in information, so they can check the website daily for the standings. Once all the grosses are finalized, the pool is then closed, and the winner is decided!
